Venice is one of the most romantic cities in Europe and one of the most beautiful cities in the world! During the Middle Ages and the Renaissance period, Venice was an important center for commerce and trade for silk and spices. It was also well known for art, and music. Most famous ones are Vivaldi for music, and Titian for painting. In the 18th century it was a center of the Grand Tour. Its uniqueness of beauty and its rich artistic and cultural history makes it one of the most visited cities in the world.
What To See
Most important attractions are St. Mark’s Basilica, Doge’s Palace, the Rialto bridge, and Piazza San Marco. There is a special musical serenade gondola tour in the evening which is a very romantic and lovely experience! Most famous events in Venice are the Carnival of Venice, Venice Film Festival and the Venice Beinnale.
