The Angel Academy of Art offers an intensive program in traditional drawing and painting that produces professional artists in the field of classic, realist painting.

The School
The Angel Academy program was developed by Mr. Angel and is also based on the 19th century French Academy. The course begins with drawing from lithographs of Charles Bargue, then on to cast work in charcoal and then oil paint. After these, the student progresses to still-life. Life drawing is a daily exercise and an important part of the program.

Location
The academy has two locations that are in the historical center of Florence. The school is only a few minutes walk from the Santa Croce church, the Duomo, and the Uffizi Gallery. There are also many markets, shops, lunch bars and restaurants that make a students’ life convenient and comfortable. Learning the old master techniques while being surrounded by Florence’s rich artistic culture and beauty is a life-changing experience.
